ABOUT US

Helping families caught in the tangles of divorce/separation since 1986.

Our Focus: Member Services, Collaboration, Public Education, Legal System Improvemens, Organizational Efficiency, Public Awareness

Dear Friend,

Please consider designating your United Way contribution this year to Equal Parents for Children.

We strive to be a leader in providing education and support services to persons dealing with Divorce, Custody and Parenting Time dilemmas.

By selecting Donor Designation #1583 and writing in "Equal Parents for Children",
your contribution will be directed towards continuing and growing our:

  • Speaker Series, which brings in Experts from Rochester and surrounding areas to inform, educate, and enlighten members and guests on Court Procedures, Laws, Obligations, Legal Reform, Coping Skills and Successful Alternatives to Litigation.
  • Public Education & Awareness, which funds the proactive education of local divorce and family law experts through targeted distribution of information on the latest issues affecting our children.
  • Web Site Development, which will enhance our current web site, www.equalparentsforchildren.org, to better meet the needs of its audience through proactive maintenance and upgrades.
  • Conference Funding, which enables EPC board members to stay educated on current issues through two-way interfacing with Government Officials and like-minded representatives of National Organizations.
  • Research and Education, In 2011 EPC is partnering with The Greater Rochester Collaborative Masters of Social Work Program, which is a collaboration between Nazareth College and The College at Brockport that educates Masters level Social Workers, to begin an assessment of providers to persons' going through divorce/custody issues and those who are accessing those services, to gauge how the current system is working and what challenges need to be met. Students in a "capstone" course known as The Masters Project will survey the identified constituents in this issue and in the end will provide a report on their findings that will be available to the public for review.
  • Needed Help, which allows EPC to use technology to assist the public and allow us to do more with less resources as an all volunteer organization. Please consider joining EPC as a volunteer in order to provide excellent service to our community.

Progress is slowly being made concerning equality in our court systems. Please join us in the journey to ensure that our children benefit from the involvement of both parents, despite the disruption and difficulties presented by divorce and separation.

Sincerely,

Mark J. Antinore, MSW
